The A50S is an addressable optical smoke detector, used to detect fires by sensing smoke particles in the air. It is not designed to detect gas or function purely as a temperature detector. The A50S uses a state-of-the-art optical sensor that is highly sensitive to combustion aerosols, with a design that makes it robust against environmental dirt and dust accumulation. The detector is part of the Cofem A50 family, which offers various combinations including models with both smoke and heat sensors (like the A50SH) or integrated short-circuit isolators (A50SI), but the A50S specifically focuses on smoke detection.
